Running Track Construction
Armor Courts recognizes that quality running track construction starts with choosing the right running track construction company.
Construction starts with a stone base and two layers of asphalt, along with a central trench drainage system. The top course is smoother, generating a better bond between the track surface and the asphalt.
At Armor Courts, we specialize in proper and timely asphalt application during sports track installation, that is vital when composing a regulation running track per the standards set forth by the governing bodies. We give exceptional amounts of attention to the slope and planarity requirements. To ensure longevity and integrity, the base and asphalt are bound by an interior and exterior concrete curb while the running track is being constructed.
Running Track Construction Details
Adequate and regular draining is fundamental to maintain the veracity and longevity, not only of a synthetic track surface but its sub-base material as well. Because of this, Armor Courts running track design comprises of a corresponding drainage arrangement. The system usually runs along the interior of the track and mainly captures and drains rainwater. Also, it serves as a water collection arrangement for the athletic field.
Including a continuous inlet drain during the sports, track construction offers high-class draining capabilities, improved field of play, a lack of perilous point inlets on the athletic arena, a buffer area for turf infringing on the track surface, as well as an aesthetic contour of the track.
Running Track Construction Company
Depending on the selected Armor Courts track system, the track construction methods we adhere to use a paved-in-place, sandwich, or a full-pour method. Once the base composition and drainage systems are finalized during the initial running track, construction for paved-in-place systems, including the black bottom layer of polyurethane –bound rubber granules is installed.
Next, we ensure a spray-applied coat of polyurethane and EPDM granules. For sandwich systems, the sports track installation commences with the same black rubber base mat, followed by the application of a quality pore sealer, full-pour polyurethane. Finally, EPDM granules top this off.
Full-pour sports track installations follow the same steps as the sandwich systems but manufacture more layers, fashioning ideal running surfaces for Olympic, collegiate, and high school facilities.
Running Track Construction Cost
The Armor Courts Design Team specializes in fashioning running tracks for all types of ventures. The team ensures to run the client through all possible options before they choose selects a product, surface colors, or even field event area locations. Our Armor Courts surveying team examines the land and gets a full picture of the possible constraints of the area. This coordination allows for the sports track to be constructed seamlessly under the existing conditions and the limitations of the grounds.
Once this is established, our design team shares the best way for a client to get the maximum out of their investment. Each track field design is customized to the individual needs of every client. The customer communicates precisely what is wanted, and the team offers every accessible option for the project, including the maximum running track surface size, the number of running track lanes, distinct radius sizes, and options for drainage. Additionally, the level of competition that will take place is considered before the team starts working on the design – a harder surface provides a faster track, ideal for competition running track design. In comparison, a softer track surface is perfect for a preparation track for the facility.
Types of Running Track Surfaces
Throughout the process, our design team remains in constant communication with the client, supplying sample renderings that demonstrate what the future sports track facility will appear like. The team and the client continue to deliberate options until a final design has been concluded, and all parties have settled on it. This is how work is delivered across all kinds of projects we take on..
It does not matter if a client is looking for a six-lane, non-competitive running track or an Olympic-level surface – the Armor Courts design team delivers the solution for every client’s needs, ensuring that the process is smooth from the inception of the idea to the final product.
Running Track Dimensions
A 400-meter, regulation, eight-lane track with typical-sized event areas is around 5,500 square yards in size. It is advisable to construct the throwing pads and runways included in the track field design using concrete instead of asphalt.
